Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

This policy explains what information Velocity by Zemaris ("Velocity", "we") handles. The short version: Velocity runs on your computer, has no accounts and does not track you.

What stays on your computer

• Your download list, settings and downloaded files are stored only on your PC.
• The browser extension sends the links you choose to download, and the cookies needed to fetch them, only to the Velocity app on your own computer (address 127.0.0.1). They are never sent to us.
• If you turn on the clipboard monitor, Velocity checks copied text for links on your PC. Clipboard contents are never sent anywhere.

What Velocity connects to

• The sites you download from, to fetch the files you ask for.
• GitHub, once a day, to check for and download updates to the open-source video engine (yt-dlp).
• zemaris.com, once a day, to check whether a new version of Velocity is available. This request contains no personal data beyond what any web request includes (such as your IP address), and we do not keep logs of it beyond what our hosting provider records for security.
• Peers in the BitTorrent network, only when you download a torrent. Other peers can see your IP address while you share a torrent.

Free trial and licence

• To run the 30-day trial, Velocity saves the date you first started it on your PC (in its settings folder and in your Windows user registry).
• Your licence key is checked on your PC. Velocity does not send your key, or anything about you, to us to check it.
• When you buy, our payment partner sends us your name, email address, country and the plan you chose, so we can email your key, keep tax records and give support.

Our website

zemaris.com does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.

Email

If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply. We do not sell or share it.

Payments

Payments are handled by our payment partner, which acts as the seller of record and processes your card or PayPal details under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card details.

Children

Velocity is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
